Foundation of Safex (India) was laid down in the year 1984 at Dhanbad, which is the coal capital of India situated 180 Kms from the state capital Ranchi and 260 Kms north-west wards from Kolkata.

Founder Late R.R. Vijoy Kumar being an eminent Mining Engineer, graduated from Cardiff (UK) and having extensive know how of Country’s Coalmines, with his scholastic approach felt that due to the extra ordinary arduous condition in mines it is likely that degree of hazard in context to Electrical / Electronic shall remain high. As such the manufacturer in this line has to establish a back up know how in terms of IS/IEC 60079-1, IS/IEC 60079-11. During seventies SDL machine was under introduction. Once after introduction it was immediately a problem before the user to incorporate Audio Visual Alarm. Till then in under ground Coalmines of India there was no manufacturer who was producing Audio Visual Alarm.

SAFEX (INDIA) under the leadership of the then R.R. Vijoy Kumar became the pioneer in introducing CIMFR tested, DGMS approved, BIS licenciated AudioVisual Alarm for under ground mobile equipment.
Since then the company has been devoted to introduce innovative ideas / items for the best interest of the Hazardous field of India. Introducing Compact Fluorescent Lamp / LED inside FLP light fitting is another milestone, achieved by the company and the same is a standing success with complete satisfaction of the customer.
Within a short span of two decades Safex (India) have established their name in the field of production and marketing of Intrinsic Safe Flameproof Electrical and Electronic equipments. The products are fully quality based appropriately tested and approved by Director General of Mines Safety, BIS certified and ISI marked. The Firm is accredited ISO-9001: 2008. The organization is supported by highly experienced people with proven track record in mining technology in the hazardous field.
